In an age where major coffee chains have dominated the market Ten Forward brings a bit of nostalgia and comfort to the famous Hollywood & Vine. Neighborhood locals and tourists alike can enjoy an artisan “cup of Joe” in a true coffee and tea lounge. We recently spent time with owner Maheen Rattonsey, who left the spa and beauty industry driven by the lack of quality coffee shops in the area. Waiting almost a year to open, Maheen promised herself that she would first find the very best coffee, tea, and pastries before opening the doors to the public.Ten Forward Coffee & Tea Lounge serves up the finest Moroccan coffees, velvety lattes, and an exquisite line of loose-leaf teas that are paired perfectly with French pastries. Their grilled sandwiches, fresh homemade tamales, (vegan options), breakfast wraps, and Greek flatbread pizzas are jaw dropping, yet healthy and organic. In addition their monthly events include nights filled with live music where customers can enjoy the complimentary tunes of jazz and acoustic bands as well as local indie groups.
This coffee house continues to uphold the sense of community that is becoming prominent in Hollywood, promising to offer a trendy yet comfortable atmosphere where one can even walk through the doors in pajamas and not feel out of place. What started from frustration of never finding a GREAT cup of coffee, Maheen along with our neighborhood, now have the pleasure of enjoying one every morning.
